Been looking around for a Dslr and the XTI has my interest. Im just wondering about the price, Ive been seeing the body non kit for around $300 and under too. MY neighbor paid like 1grand for hers.

Is it possible to get the body for that cheap??

It may be possible to get JUST the body for that little...And by JUST the body, I mean no battery, no manual, no cables, no software, no strap...And it will probably be grey market without any real Canon warranty.

It may be brand new and may be fine, but for my peace of mine, Id much rather buy it boxed up from Canon.

Under $300? I'd be amazed.

If you must know...

A few places like usaphotonation advertise an XT and XTi body ONLY for $239 and $269, but yes 99% of these places that advertise a to good to be true price are scams. Just do a search on the company before purchasing and the reviews will let you know.

I would look at sites like Amanzon and B&H for a reference price point. Anything substantially below those prices are probably a scam or a grey market model without all the other much needed items (i.e., manuals and a battery).

A good deal on a new, USA warranty XTI body should be $550+. That'd be just the body in the box with the battery, software and strap. Add a decent lens and a CF card and you'd be right around $1k.
