Hi people,

I noticed that Lumin8 are doing this deal until March'08. Buy a F200 or F400 kit and get a 3rd head free, which I thought was a pretty good deal. Just wondered if anyone has used these units before or if they've just come up with this "offer" because they can't sell them because they're crap....

I know I'd have to buy another stand etc. but a saving of 2-300 is pretty good. Thanks and Laters!

Only thing wrong I see is that the user cannot replace the flash tube. Not sure what cost is involved in this if the flash tube goes.

That is a great deal. I am already considering the Lumen8's but I am not sure I can stretch to £649 for the kit.

As mentioned above, my main concern with these is the lack of user changeable tube but also no fan - continued use in a studio??

I have emailed them about the cost/durability, we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, I found this magazine review of Lumin8, D-Lite and Bowens kits... Luminate came out on top but there is the issue of changing bulbs. Apparantly it doesn't "need" fans but does have a thermal cut-off.... how often would that kick in?)

Adamlc,

Please let us know what you get back from Lastolite. I do like the look of the Lumen8's and the deal at Warehouse Express is almost unmissable. Perhaps if I sell the Bees......
