...but its on back order at Warehouse Express here in the UK - they've got a delivery coming in this week but they're all assigned so it looks like I'm waiting a week or two for it, sniff sniff, on the other hand they did pricematch Amazon UK for me yesterday.

It's going to be a long two weeks.

I hate that wait. I wish someone would hurry and invent the transporter. That way as soon as you press “buy”, within seconds it would just materialize on your desk. Now that would be cool. Anyway, enjoy the wait and enjoy the camera.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Part of the excitement is the wait.... but then again, I've never had to wait THAT long! Let us know when you get it, and be sure to tell us how you like it! ;)

Nearest one to me is 30 miles away (45min drive) in Carlisle - it appears that I could order one for pickup there but can't see anything to do with price matching on their site - and warehouse express are offering a free 2gb sandisk extreme III card in with it.

Now if Jessops would pricematch and through a card in but unlikely.

Hmmm, point taken. I wonder if it is worth phoning the Carlisle branch and talking to the manager about him/her throwing in a CF card. As I understand Jessops operation the branches are tasked with total turnover generation and perhaps ??? if you were to get the 40D at the store before the end of the month there would be an incentive for them locally to offer such 'bonus'? Worth a try maybe.

Another one to ask is Park Cameras whether they will macth the WE offer?

Think I might just do that tomorrow morning - can't be anything worse than a "no sorry"

Contacted Jessops Carlisle - not interested in budging a single penny on it at all. Ack Well.
