Will the 5D accept the same lenses as the 30D ? Was wondering in case I wanted to upgrade to the 5D. I have the 30D right now.

There are some wonderful EF-S lenses out there...the 17-55 IS and 10-22 specificially. It would be a shame to not enjoy what these lenses can do on a crop body. Further they are so well respected that you can probably sell them for nearly what you paid for them once you upgrade. Paul

These are large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances. With an abundance of peripheral illumination, they are ideal lenses for Digital SLR Cameras whilst retaining suitability for traditional 35mm SLRs.
(DUPLICATE IMAGE) DC (DC Lens)These are special lenses designed so that the image circle matches the smaller size of the image sensor of most digital SLR cameras. Their specialized design gives these lenses the ideal properties for digital cameras, the compact and lightweight construction is an added bonus ! including compact and lightweight construction. tonylong ...winded More info | Oct 27, 2007 01:29 | #11 I you are ditching (selling) your 30D, you must sell your EF-s lenses to the same buyer! An alternative is to keep your 30D and EF-S as a backup..and a plaything, or something to pass on... Tony

The only one I know from personal experience is the EF50/1.4 but I'm sure there will be others. Bob Define "unacceptable". It was certainly acceptable to photographers in the old film days, and the light falloff (cos^4) you're describing, being inherently part of the lens, not the camera, design, would be present to essentially the same extent in any FF camera. "Unacceptable" comes down to personal opinion. My opinion is that the 50/1.4 produces vignetting that is approximately 2 stops underexposed in the corners. The 50/1.8 and 50/1.2 fare much better and the images produced are usable to the extreme corners. None of my other lenses produce vignetting that is remotely close to the results I saw with the 50/1.4. 1Dx2 (2), 5DSR, 1Ds3, 1D4, 5D2(590nm), 5D2(720nm) EF600 EF400 EF300-II EF300 EF200 EF200-II EF180L EF135L EF100 EF85-II EF50L TS-E17/4 TS-E24L-II TS-E45 TS-E90 MP-E65 EF70-200-II EF24-70/2.8-II EF16-35/4 EF8-15/4 EF11-24/4 Zeiss 15/2.8 21/2.8 25/2 28/2 35/1.4 35/2 50/2 85/1.4 100/2 135/2 T/C's L-SC & a WIFE!
