I would convert the 20D to IR. The higher resolution would be of great benefit in the IR world, where things are not quite as sharp to begin with. Besides, a 20D makes one hell of an IR camera!

Keep the 10D as your risk camera. You won't get enough for it to make it worh selling.

i disagree. most people still use the D60 for IR and it gives amazing results. the 10D would be just about the same IQ wise but with way better interface and ease of use. if you need proof, just check out the IR work that was done by CDS with his 60D or here is an example of the D60 that i did from a moving boat a few months ago:

i really think that you should convert the 10D and sell the 20D. you will be able to get more money for the 20D and the 10D will do just great for IR.

I don't know where you get the will power to go out shooting, non-pro, & leave the 5D behind.

In any case, the latter two cameras are used for business (and business only as my accountant and the IRS tell me).

No suggestions Mark, just a question - does your accountant and the IRS keep track of your shutter actuations on the "business cameras"?;)

Is your business so narrowly defined that you can't figure out some way to make your personal shooting part of your work? I'm not an accountant, so tell me if I'm wrong, but I don't see why personal work can't still be portfolio work, possible stock, practice and refining, etc etc.

No, they don't keep track of my shutter actuations, but it's a bit of an ethical thing to me. Do I only ever use the 5D and 1DMKIIN for business and never for pleasure? Of course not, but I do try to at least utilize those bodies mostly for business and when I shoot for just myself, will use those files for stock or make them available to a couple of graphic artists to purchase for their projects.

But birthday parties, family get togethers, etc. are much more difficult to define as business related, so I keep the other cameras around for that reason - also to loan them out occassionally to competent family members and friends.
