Hi Hermeto, good to meet you. Now you cannot make that statement anymore.

Are you serious? You actually work full time as a professional photographer and you have only one camera body? Incredible.

I have one body, but it's only a part-time job for me. I had two bodies for about one week.

Yes, this is the problem. Long list of toys. Women just don't understand.

News flash - some of us here are women! And I can assure you, we understand. ;)

No kidding. I have a backpack and two shoulder bags full of gear. And the backpack is so heavy I can no longer lift it.

I have one body and a bunch of film ones.

If digital breaks, I'll always be able to shoot film or rent one for 70 bucks or so.

For me it's a matter of money - I simply cannot afford to have more than one body, and if I didn't sell the 350D right away I'd probably not use it enough to make the depreciation worth it.

Same for me, I couldn't justify keeping the 350D when I upgraded to the 40D, and I know I would never use it unless the 40D packed up. If that was to happen the simple option (for me anyway) would be to pick up a second body then!

Well, you'd be surprised. As my friend's wife put it, better that he had a long list of toys than a long list of women friends. :)

During my film camera days, I fell into the category of being too lazy or unmotivated by the price to sell old equipment. Thus, I accumulated quite a few cameras which now collect dust.

I initially started my foray into digital with the 350D, gave that to my daughter after a year and an investment in the 5D. I then decided I needed something faster for action/sports, and got the 40D. I usually don't carry both DSLRs, but do carry a G7 as backup.

As everyone points out, it's nice to have a backup for those "can't miss" occasions. I'll probably take both DSLRs for my winter holiday trip to the Far East.

I went on a wedding shoot (non-paid) and brought one camera with 2 different lenses. That was a huge mistake. This is a hobby for me and I have 4 bodies! I don't use them all at once, but have them for different reasons. I got a 300D when I know I'll be around some wild and dirty children. I'll use my mk2 with flash for formal occasions. The 30D can swing either way. My wife and my daughter also like to use the cameras so they will take the 300D or 30D and use the green box. It usually captures more desired shots than a P&S mainly since there isn't that split-second lag between depressing the shutter and the camera actually taking the picture. For this reason alone I'd rather use a 300D with the kit lens than an expensive p&s.

Haven't had just one body since '75. Well, actually since '72 if we count the Nikonos . . .

When I get my 400D, I wish I could keep my Sony H5 as it is an awsome P&S. But my budget (and wife lol) won't let me have both. Plus I'm scared the H5's shutter button will break AGAIN, so if I'm gonna have another P&S it will be a CANON. My old S200 is still working fine after being dropped on concrete twice! I will miss the H5 though, 12x zoom with a 1.7x t-con= alot of cheap zoom!!

Personaly with the price of second hand gear it may not be worth getting rid of it.
I've got the 20D as a backup to my 5D. The money you get for them these days is not worth the hassle. I'd save up for some additional glass and leave it at that.

Hi kevindar, pleasure to meet you too.
In the future I’ll just add – except for one - to the end of my statement and we’ll both be covered, I guess.. :D
