At last crumbling under the pressure of trying to explain the difference between an admission of failure in AF focusing in the US and that in Europe, Canon UK have announced to CPS members they are starting a recall of MKIII cameras.....let us see who they handle this and all the issues with people like me who have sent their camera in 2 or 3 times complaining of AF issues. In fact going further do you think they will compensate Rob Gailbriath for all his R&D work on behalf of Canon that allowed Canon to benefit from this:-)

A Canon 7 day turn around is better than a camera that is malfunctioning..;)

From that what I heard, and I trust to this guy much more, then someone who is answering phone at CPS, turn around time will be more 7 months then 7 days. There will be one single Japanese guy coming in next 3 to 4 weeks, to service whole Scandinavia (Finland, Danmark, Sweden and Norway). Normal CPS servicemen won't be able to fix this, from this what I heard. And it's suppose to be same in other regional CPS centers. So you can imagine 7 days turn around is just a dream.

What do you think about this? I haven't been keeping up, but why wasn't it recalled here as well?

edit: Didn't realize there was another thread already...thanks for moving my post here.
