I know its just under a month away, but figured start asking now to get a jump on things.

Does anyone know what stores will be having some decent deals on anything photography related? Printers/scanners/harddrives/memory cards?

Hoping to get the fiancee to get me a new scanner for slides/negatives. Myself pick up a few 4gb or higher compact flash cards. And possibly a backup hard drive for all my fathers slides/negatives.

I plan on picking up a couple 500GB ext. HD's, and more CF's. I enjoy walking around circuit city on that day. Awesome deals. :-) Newegg usually has some of the best, too.

I need to remember that. I need another internal drive and an external enclosure.

I'm with you there. I want to leave something connected to my mac so I can utilize the time machine. :) But more external space is never a bad thing.

I dont need anymore CF cards.

Wow, I just realised I will have that day off for the first time in 7+ years. Having a state job is much better than working retail during the holiday season. :D

Sandisk is currently running a rebate. I only found the form at Adorama but when I printed it out it listed all the major stores. The rebate is a gift check for use at the store or on line where you boght the card. I shop on line at B&H. Check the Sandisk website, thery may also have the form.

Every site has deals sometimes. For example, not too awful long ago, I bought a 24-70L from newegg.com. They gave me a free 580EX II with it.

B&H currently has up to a couple hundred off some lenses/cameras, until Nov. 1st, and still the normal rebates from canon after that.

Pretty good stuff if you keep your eyes open.

Also keep an eye on fatwallet.com and slickdeals.net.. The folks on these forums are hardcore when it comes to saving a buck or two..

I had no idea what this black Friday was until I googled it. Its the first Friday after thanks Giving correct? If not Ill look like a idiot, and Ill blame google. Assuming that there will be lots of good deals, does anyone think that they will extend to the 5D? Or don't the big places like Adorama do deals like this?
