Well, I must say that Brown (UPS) did alot for me today by dropping off my packages from B&H. I know everyone hates these threads, but I just had to do it as I'm too darn excited. I took advantage of the Canon rebates to pick up some new gear.

Initial thoughts
5D - Is very nice. I really like the finger groove, as it is much more pronounced than on my 20D. I've only taken a handfull of pictures at ISO 800-1600, which is exactly why I bought the camera, I couldn't care less about the MP or FF, but high ISO performance was the main factor, and the 5D certainly does deliver. I was surprised at how much quieter the 5D is over my 20D. I was almost embarrased at times taking pictures inside a quiet room (such as during my daughter's school play). I don't like the feel of the 5D shutter button one bit. It feels too soft and mushy for me. I like it firm and responsive, and favor the 20D shutter button feel over the 5D.
BG-E4 Grip - Everyone talks about how lousy the BG-E3 grip for the 20D/30D/40D camera is, and how cheap and plasticy it feels. I've heard that the 5D grip was much better, but honestly I'm not seeing it. It looks almost identical to my BG-E3 grip on my 20D and feels pretty much the same. I didn't have any problems with my 20D grip, so this one doesn't bother me. But what I had heard, I was expecting more from the grip.
50mm - I've had this little jewel before, but traded it to Ed Rader. I really missed it, and with the rebates bring the lens to $280 new, I just couldn't resist it. Specifically, I always like the 50mm focal length on FF.
100mm - First impression are it's much bigger than I thought it would be. I had a EF-S 60mm Macro, that I just loved. Man was that thing sharp sharp sharp. Unfortunately it didn't work with the 5D, so I replaced it with the 100mm. I haven't played with the 100mm much yet, but I hope it can live up to the 60mm
24-70 - Well, this marks my second 24-70. I bought my first 24-70 several years back for my 20D, but sold it for various reason. I replaced it with a 24-105L. Both were good lens, but I just didn't like the focal lengths on a 1.6x camera. So I sold the 24-105L and picked up a 17-55 f/2.8 IS and all of the sudden life was good. I really did love that 17-55 on my 20D. The focal length was just about perfect for me, and man was the lens sharp. Going to the 5D, I decided I wanted f/2.8 over IS and f/4.0 so I bought another 24-70. It's just as big and heavy as I remembered the last one. Also, I'm gonna have to get used to the focal length, as both the 17-55 and 24-105L on the 20D had a longer apparent focal length.
580 EX II - With the Canon rebates, and B&H's promo codes, the 580 EX II was being sold for $330 new, and I just couldn't pass that up. I have always wanted to have two speedlights so I can use one as a master and another as a slave, and this was the right opportuntity to make that happen. I haven't played with it any, but plan on this weekend. Am charging up the batteries right now in preparation.
Pixma Pro9000 - I didn't need a printer, but Canon is offering up to $500 in rebates ($400 if you buy it with the 5D, and another $100 for just the printer). Essentially, I was getting a free printer, and a $100 rebate on the 5D. I'm probably gonna sell the printer which will give me about $275 - 300 back on the 5D. I haven't opened the package, as I would like to sell it as NIB, but my first impressions are that this is a HUGE printer.
I'm still undecided if I need a UWA. I'm thinking about picking up a 17-40, but 24-70 is pretty wide on the 5D and still unsure if I will need a 17-40.
Enjoy your new setup. Lots of good stuff there.
