30D or 40D

There are sooooo many discussions about this on the forum - it always comes down to money - if you can afford the 40D get it, if not get the 30D.
Sometimes there is talk of getting a 30D and putting the difference towards new glass, but to be perfectly honest the amount you will save isn't really enough to buy anything amazing - perhaps one 'low end' L lens?

Just get what you can afford

Personally I think if you don't go for the 40D, look at the 20D. 20D's go for under $500, which is a savings of $800 over the 40D...which can buy you a good chunk of glass.

I would go for the 40D if you have the money.

If not 30d, i like the idea of live view and self cleaning. gimmicks maybe but they seem to work
