Hi guys not really sure which card to go for I'm a hobbyist so I do not have to have the cutting edge of performance.

Thanks in advance

Sandisk Ultra IIs, Extreme IIIs, and Extreme IVs are good.

Kingston Elite Pros and Ultimate are good.

RiDATA Supreme are good.

There are others but those are the most common. I personally have Kingston Elite Pro, SanDisk Ultra II, and RiDATA Supreme.

Buy 2x2GB instead. The D60 wants FAT16 file system, so won't handle 4 GB cards without much extra effort. And I wouldn't buy more than an Ultra II for the D60. If you intend to move up in the next year or so, think about something faster, but if you're content with the current camera, speed's not an issue.

Hi thanks for that I had a feeling there was some limitation on the d60 (must have read it in the manual when i oringally got it), good think you pointed it out. I am thinking of purchasing another camera in the next year or so and use this as a backup.
So are you saying if I get a high speed 2gb card the d60 will not be able to transfer at the high speeds as it's not capable?

The camera won't be able to write to the card any faster with a fast card. However, if you upload your pictures via cardreader instead of through the camera, it will make a difference.

Still, with 6.3mp images, I always found 2GB cards to be large enough. They were just fine for up to 8mp, but now at 10mp they are getting a bit small for the job.

in that case I will buy a dedicatd card for this d60 rather than something I will put into the next camera I purchase. http://www.robgalbraith.com …ti_page.asp?cid=7700-6012 (external link)
this website has a nice comparison of multiple cards for the camera. So will go along with one of them.

Thanks for all your help guys.

I use a 1GB RiDATA Supreme card in my 10D. Holds about as many RAWs as a 2GB in my 1D II. I seldom fill it up and it's faster than the camera.

One "advantage" of the slower/older cameras is that you can use just about any card in it. I couldn't tell the difference between my Extreme III and an el-cheapo while taking pictures, but I could when I was uploading from a card-reader. A really cheap card can be had for around $10 or so.
