I have an Elan 7 and am thinking of purchasing a D-60 in the near future. I've been taking some portraits and am in desperate need of a flash bracket. Am thinking of the Stroboframe R4b. What would be a good bracket for both cameras?

Thanks

I have the Stroboframe and it is excellent for most cameras, including my medium format. I like the action from horizontal to vertical and the flash always stays over the lens.

If you use a 550ex with a flash bracket do you get the ETTL functionality? I have a Stroboframe that I have used with an older camera but I have not used it with my D30/550ex. How would it actually fire? Do I need a cable or some sort of adapter to go to the camera itself?

You need to purchase a Canon Remote Shoe cable.

Does the remote shoe cable allow for the ETTL to continue to work?

Yes it does it just extends the flash shoe via cable. I use it to hold my flash in my hand on occassion. it works just like it was directly attached to the camera.

Above is a product link to the part.

Very much in fact when using a big tele 300 mm and up and a 550 with the extender on it you need to have the flash on a bracket. If it were on the camera it would hit the lens with part of the flash.
