i have been trying to get a decent shot of this harrier for almost a year now and every time she does something to ruin my shot. today, just when i thought that i am finally getting the shot, she decided to only play with the sun shining directly at her face so again, no shot for me :( i did get to see a air show of the black angels (cormorants in flight):

Nice shots anyway Snir. Some days it's better to have some cloud cover. :)

I cause a couple flights of cormorants headed South a few weeks ago. I never knew they migrated like that. :)

There still pretty nice to look at. Nice and sharp and good colors.

You'll get him the way you want eventually . Where are you going to get him? Close to Boston?

Not an easy raptor to get close to, I had one mocking me all summer
nonetheless, they are 2 fine shots! The cormorants are awesome!!!

i will Anke!!! in a way, the fact that i still don't have a single shot of the harrier that i am happy with is part of the fun. i now view it as a challenge and i will keep working on it until i get the one that i want.

I can relate to this, Blonde! These harriers can drive you crazy. Today, I was sitting in some tall grass beside a field where a male and female harrier were hunting. Neither one came anywhere near. However, about a minute (no kidding) after I left, I looked back up the road and the male flew just about exactly to where I had been hiding, and landed on a fence post.

Bad luck blonde, there's always next time. She looks a beautiful bird.

They are still nice but would have been great with the light behind you....keep trying..

I have similar issues with Harriers...got a decent one or two but still not what I am looking for. Spent a couple of hours today and while I did not get the images I wanted I did finally get something approaching "OK" with an adult male.....still a long way to go.
