In the near future *prefrably 4 months or so* im going to have 1500$ to spend on camera gear. With the lens i currently have, Do you think its wise to get a:

40D

or a

Canon 400L F/5.6 Lens.

First question. What problem is this purchase going to solve? Is the 400D limiting you in any way? Are your existing lenses too short for a significant part of your photo interests? Too slow responding?

BTW - I assume that "Sigma 70 F/2.8" in your sig. is the 24-70 f/2.8? And that you have the "Bigma" 50-500 as well as the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8.

No :) its a prime sigma and the Bigma is talking about the 70-200 (yes im overwelmed by the size xD)

The limits of my 400D, arent that big, but having the extra cash i would think Upgrading to a longer lasting camera is a invesment i should make+ the 6.5 Fps is well needed for the new F1 pit opening here =D, and the higher iso is needed in some tight spots were no flash is allowed :/. are those reasons good enough to buy me a 40D or should i go for the Canon lens.

Also the reason i want the lens is for photographing wild life when i Go to switzerland, Etc.

OK - you've identified a couple of things the new body would give you. Now ask yourself if the 70-200 will be long enough for the F1 racers. And if not, whether the need for reach outweighs the need for fps and another stop of ISO.

8| youve got a good point there o.o...

But i think ill go for the body, Since i dont use long zooms quite that much(as i only use the long end on my 70-200 in rare situations).

i Can always get the 400L 6 months after the body X).
