I just started having an issue with my 40D when I hit the playback button to review an image. It doesn't automatically go to the last shot taken, it will go to any random image on the card. I haven't touched any of the settings/C -functions so I don't think that it is anything I have done.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if anyone knows of a way to fix it? It isn't really a problem as much as it is an annoyance.

Thanks,
Travis

I have noticed that if I was cycling through images and have not fired a shot it will go to the last shot I took. Then when I take a shot it goes to last shot taken. Not a problem for me as this is how all my other bodies have operated.

Yeah all my other bodies have operated the same as well, as did the 40D until recently. I have no idea what is causing this to happen. That's why I was wondering if others have seen this problem as well.

Thanks,
Travis

I may know what your talking about. I think if you hit the play button and say shoot three pics, It will show the last pic you looked at not the last one taken.

Does this help.?? I am a little sleepy.

I don't think that is the problem I am seeing, but I will have to check tomorrow.

I noticed it this last weekend. I shot my daughters' soccer games on Saturday and my sister wanted some family portraits done on Sunday. When I was shooting Sunday, everytime I would playback/review an image it would start at an arbitrary point in the file directory.

Maybe I should just reinstall the firmware?

Thanks,
Travis
