So I am about to submit some photos to a magazine and their submission guidelines requested the original RAW and the artist's edited tiff file. Well I have the original RAW, but all me edited files I converted from RAW to TIFF to JPEG and then deleted the TIFF.

Is it all right for me to convert my edited JPEGs back to the TIFF format and send them or do I have to start from scratch and re edit the original RAW? It seems like I should be able to convert from JPEG to TIFF but I just don't know if there is some big taboo there (e.g. major degrade in quality, loss of color etc.). Thanks for all your help.

It's not ideal, but try it and compare it with the original RAW and see what you think.

You won't have any loss of quality by going from jpg to tif, but OTOH you won't regain what you lost when you wrote the jpg.

its because they're going to convert it to CMYK before it goes to print, they don't want to be held responsible for any loss of detail because you sent them a JPG.. as long as you've only saved the JPG in High Quality, you shouldn't see a difference opening it and then saving as a TIFF

Thanks for the quick replies. I thought it would be alright but I just wanted to make sure. I did save all my jpeg to the maximum quality.
