Played around with some new ideas I had today. Thoughts?

I think both look good. I would, however, get rid of the glimpse of background light near your chin... Change that to a shadow and I think it would be better.

You have a very expressive face that lends well to this type of photography.

Face detail and colour OK. But prefer the first.
Would like to see more detail in your head gear.

Both are just great...
If I had to choose one, I'd go with the first. (I like the warmer colors better)

First one for me, its just got more texture, it works well. I get a viking vibe! LOL

Thanks guys, I rather prefer number 1 myself, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't totally in left field with that one.

JSimonian - You know, I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out, now it's all I can see. Good catch, it definately would work better as a shadow.

scot - Pretty basic light above and straight on setup. It was in a white room though so you're talking about ALOT of fill from every which direction

I get that alot ;)

I do plenty of photos of clients as well as personal work, but the days when I was young and headstrong enough to go into a shoot with anyone but myself planning to do an effect or "look" I had no idea if I could achieve are long gone. Experience taught me that very very quickly, haha.
