How large of a CF card can a G3 take

First post guys after a year of lurking. Want to buy a 1GB card for my G3 has anyone had problems with their camera taking this size card as I believe the manual stops at 512

I used a 1gb card for months with no problems.

Its quite possible there wasn't a 1GB card available when the G3 manual was printed.....or at least one in mass production.

I've also used a 1GB card for months without a problem.

G3 can handle the FAT32 format in Compact Flash, and I think the upper limit of those is 2^32 of 512 byte sectors or 2,199,023,255,552 bytes = 2 Terabytes = 2000 Gigabytes.

You won't have to worry about capacity for a while. :P

Your G3 should be able to use almost all of the larger format CF cards that will come up in the next 20 years so.

I got my G2 bundled with a 1gig IBM microdrive 'Microdrive edition' long before the G3 was even unveiled.

and still a lot of things to learn...

They are coming with cards that have more and more space so fast the manuals can be outdated quickly!
