Thank you everyone for participating... :D
Please nobody groan when I explain why I asked...

Well basically, I went out last night, and while I was out, I took my heart rate... I haven't taken my pulse reading for about 6 years (last time was at university) and I had just assumed it had remained the same... I was roughly 54-58bpm back them...

Anyway, I took my rate last night, and it was 84bpm!!!! I got quite scared. In 6 years have I really become that unhealthy?? I don't exercise at all, infact i'm quite against it! I'm not "fat" I only weigh 56kg (9stone) approximately.

So after a short 2 minute health scare, I laid back in my seat, took another sip from my 3rd pint of beer, and finished off my juicy Big Mac :D

lol

Ya kinda killed the thread there Niraj with your little health scare... lol!

But nice save with the pic of your sister. ;)

Oh.... and a quick Google search on "normal heart rate" revealed that the normal heart rate for adults is between 60 and 100 BPM. You have nothing to worry about! ;)

Hmmm, but I still think mine is excessively high, I'm going to have to give up alcohol or McDonalds......

..... lol (can't see that happening fast)

for those who participated, here are the results amongst us:

12 participants.

Average Heart Rate = 73bpm (average resting rate was 74.5bpm)
The most active person had a heart rate of 60bpm (very good)
75% perform regular exercise
50% are junk food lovers :)

On that note, I would like to say, we all need to shape up! :)

I will at some stage carry out a more conclusive analysis on the entire Wedding Forum... and see what we can learn about photographers.

Thanks again for everyone who took part in my quick lil study.

Good Morning Everyone!

Niraj, I used to teach a Cardio kick boxing class and one day a very thin girl came to class...we would start out by doing 1k jumping jacks...she could barely do 100. Thin or not "fat " has little to do with cardio strength. Although Fat does not help at all...

If you keep 10 pounds of extra weight around your belly, you are more prone for disease of the heart, kidney and liver, the more weight there, the more you are at risk.

I could go on and on...I won't...I'll scare you all, LOL

I hope you do, do more of this Niraj. If it wakes one person up, it's worth it.

BTW..fast FOOD? is not FOOD...really, it adds absolutely NOTHING to your body besides things that will destroy it....I am totally against fast food places, Hydrogenated Oils and High Fructose Corn Syrup. DON"T consume these things at all, ever!

OK>>DONE

Morning Lisa.

Yes I intend to carry out a few more tests, as long as we have willing participants.

The reason I wanted to know, was because I need some sort of convincing myself. I obviously have a very unhealthy heart rate. I used to be so much stronger when i was younger, then during Uni came the Junk Food and Alcohol. I dont do drugs, or smoke and dont intend to either.

If after all my random surveys I manage to convince myself it's better to be healthy, i will have done myself some justice :)

btw: did any of you guys see the film "SuperSize Me". Well I did, and half way through, I went to McDonalds and got myself a BigMac Meal, Portion of Nuggets and a cheeseburger! Was the film sending subliminal advertising messages, or was it supposed to scare me? Cos it didnt! :(

I saw Supersize Me when it first came out in the theaters here... I couldn't step foot in a McDonald's for at least a year... I try to stay away from fast foods. Every once in a while I'll have a cheeseburger, but I'll skip the fries. I only eat there when I'm super hungry, and have to be somewhere in a hurry.... which isn't very often. ;)

See, that's what I assumed the film was supposed to do to me... but it didn't. Maybe I didn't understand the point of the film??

Plus at the end, all those ill-effects that he had on him, felt temporary.

Did you miss the part where the doctors were urging him to stop his diet immediately because his liver was being destroyed?
