Hmmm, but I still think mine is excessively high, I'm going to have to give up alcohol or McDonalds......

..... lol (can't see that happening fast)

Morning Mike

If your going to give up one or the other.....pick giving up McDonalds. Alcohol will at least help thin your blood, taking the place of an asprin a day*wink*

Did you miss the part where the doctors were urging him to stop his diet immediately because his liver was being destroyed?

I watched it all, from beginning to end... I saw that bit, but remember, he was eating it for breakfast lunch and dinner... I have it maybe once a week... enough time for my body to perform some sort of recovery.

I think alcohol will kill my liver before a BigMac will... and I dont actually even drink that much... maybe a total of 7 or 8 pints a week (if that)...

I personally don't think i'm THAT unhealthy, but my heart rate tells a different story... what do we think?

Hi ya...

Ok, Niraj, how'd I do?

Compare your results, to those that are given, and you'll know which categories you fall into :)

To be honest, with this small selection of results, it's very difficult to tell if exercising is even worth the effort... I need to get a wider range of results on this.

should I point out that I can slow my heart rate down.....down to about 40 bpm, when I conecentrate on it....done in hospital a few years back to see if I could, I was quite surprised.

My dad and I can both do the same thing. Same for our blood pressure. We both have naturally very low blood pressure, but we can make it go super high just by thinking about it.

On that note, I would like to say, we all need to shape up! :)

I will at some stage carry out a more conclusive analysis on the entire Wedding Forum... and see what we can learn about photographers.

I know I need to shape up. Keep harassing me so I can feel more motivated. I've finally got rid of my post-baby eating habits, which were terrible, but I don't exercise nearly enough.

btw: did any of you guys see the film "SuperSize Me". Well I did, and half way through, I went to McDonalds and got myself a BigMac Meal, Portion of Nuggets and a cheeseburger! Was the film sending subliminal advertising messages, or was it supposed to scare me? Cos it didnt! :(

I saw it and I swore I would never eat fast food again. But now I do again. Granted, I mostly eat salad, but the chicken always makes me think of how the McChicken sat in the guy's filing cabinet for 6 months and didn't rot. yuck!

I've still yet to find a motivation to get "healthy"...

Not true.

Not nice.

Even if true, not relevant to the female members of this forum.

Not photography related.

what???? It's hard to tell if exercising is even worth the effort??? Are you serious??

dude, exercise is probably one of the best things you could possibly do for your body. And it's not just about heart health. Being fit has a million additional benefits, like better mood, better sleep, better sex, easier to focus on tasks, more endurance for physical AND mental activites, confidence, feeling good about how you look, and sooo many other things. Not to mention, when exercising to your potential you get a natural high. I find the best part for me is the mood thing. Your body chemisty is different and you're just in a better overall mood all the time, and it makes waking up in the morning a lot easier.

That being said, I've fallen off the wagon and I'm lazy as crap right now, and feel like crap too. I just need to get through processing my last weddings and shoots, then it's back to training like crazy.

Don't mistake this for preaching, because I don't practice, but most doctors agree that the BARE MINIMUM of intentional exercise that a person should get is half an hour three times a week. Intentional meaning you don't count housecleaning, chasing kids, being out shooting - only those periods where you are exercising constantly and at a level that increases your heart rate for the entire half an hour. That's the bare minimum.

I would think that in a career that requires a lot of movement and quite often running around all day, you'd want to be in pretty good shape (it's photography related)

oh my gosh, my first shoot of the season (or the odd winter wedding) always kills me. I'm always super sore and extra tired the next day. wedding shooting IS definitely physically demanding.
