Why do that when we already have an alternative?

This isn't an alternative to the current situation Liza... this site was for Amanda and I, to keep track of our new "exercise" routine :)

Jeff and Bryan, Lloyd.

I know you guys are not happy with what is happening here...not sure who is...BUT, you've not even tried it. I'm not saying it will be perfect, but your setting your heels into the ground and opposing something that has not even been tried.

Don't hate me for this or exclude me any more then you already have..But
Liza is right, it's someone else's forum and you can voice your opinion and I guess leave if you want or stay and try to be a part of the solution not the problem.

but niraj is right..families stick together...through the hell or high water...so what you are saying to us is that because things are changing, you don't like it, your going to just leave. then what part of this were you to begin with?

for me, you all have been a BIG part of what I have learned good and bad ;):p

Things happen..and people move on, I for one would hate to see you go...so don't go...you can do both...and still have input in our lives and so can we. but POTN is where you guys learned what you know and where I am learning what I have to learn...

or if you are really not happy, then leave...instead of keep jumping in when it's talked about and saying your leaving.

I honestly would hate to see you leave. but like it's Pekka (sp) choice to change this wedding forum into general stuff, it's also yours to leave or stay.

Ok..flame away...

I have to go out.I'll read when I get back..

too many sites!!!

I do agree with that, I think we could have a health site here on the general chat for sure, I think there is something similar there now.

Niraj wrote in post #4359245 (external link)
Oooh erm  the front page of that site is full of women! Looks like a health freak site! Not sure if it's my "cuppa tea (with 1 less spoon of sugar)"

edit : The Term "freak" was used in a non insulting way, lol hehehe :D

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOookkk and looking at woman is a problem for you? LOL

I gotta go..be good everyone.

No one will flame you for having an opinion, and families certainly do stick together. But they also sometimes move elsewhere as a unit, and that's what has occurred. Most of us have chosen to move on to the other place, and you are certainly welcome to continue being a part of our family. This forum as a whole is a valuable resource for amateur photographers with a few working pros thrown in for good measure. I value what I have learned here and will continue my participation in other parts of the forum, albeit to a lesser degree.

Peace.

Too bad not everyone is welcome there, but I guess many of the photographers here have evolved to the point now that they are looking for a community without the amateurs and we may have seen them trickle away anyway. Selfishly, I think it sucks, but I know several have been wanting something for just pros and this has given them the push to make the switch. Best of luck to all! I do hope some of you will still pop in, if only to do us the service of posting pity photos from your weddings.

I'll probably still be around here... just on a much smaller scale.

as I said in another thread, I'm here to help out as much as I can, but my time is very limited also. If I have to spend a lot of time searching the whole forum for wedding threads, that is time I normally would have spent trying to offer a detailed response. I don't have the time to leisurely browse the whole place every day. Thread turnover is really fast in many forums, like the EOS and lens forum. When I DO have the time, then i'll pop in but i'm sure it's not gonna be a daily occurrence like in the past.

I don't think DWF is the place for me... i've got membership, but it feels far too advanced.

I didn't feel this at all. I haven't officially shot a wedding yet but was added to Option B no problem. I'm bouncing back and forth right now because I am an "amateur" and need the best info I can get my hands on to so that I may become successful.

The pieces do seem to be falling into place.

I hear what you're saying... The information is still available on POTN, it's just a little more harder to find the exact bits, precision for the Wedding Forum has been blurred. However, like you, i'm still learning, and will absorb as much information as possible, to become as successful as some of the pro's past and present.

oh.. for some reason I thought that it was only open to pros, similar to pro access at DWF.
