Hi Jim - that shot of the receding caisson(?) is really beautiful. I love the way you captured the contrast of the grave stones going up the shaded hill with the brighter foreground. Again, you've managed a terrific 3-D effect.

Hi Jared - hey, that is a pretty smooth song..... long time since I've seen a music video too. One of the guests in the church audience almost looks like Robert Patrick..... bit of a strange script, but still nicely done; thanks for sharing.

Both have kinda inspired me. the one by frou frou (first link) inspired me to go out and find these shots

while the second link i was listening to while painting.

Cool to see the different emotions they evoke. Especially the lyrics "theres beauty in the breakdown" hence the busted up part of the city

Remind me to duck then .

Words to live by: one should not cut mats late in the evening when one is tired. First thing I did after putting a fresh blade into my Logan Mat cutter was to test the point on my thumb. The good news is that I bled on the desk and not the archival mat.

Then I had "forgotten" that not quite all of my 15"x10" prints really fell into that size category.... fortunately little damage was done; I just ended up using those as backer boards.

I'd taken these shots a little while ago, but here is the mighty Logan Simplex Plus Model 750 poised for action:

You're so good. I bought a bunch of nice mat board stuff while I was in Perth over Xmas - it's still in the bag. Good intentions and all that...

A few years back I shot this Bar Mitzvah. The parents had hired the fastest working caricaturist I'd ever seen in my life, to keep the kiddies amused. I swear this guy must have had 10 cups of coffee before the event, chased down by a liter of Mountain Dew.

At the end of the evening he insisted upon doing mine. Hmmmmm..... guess where Mr. Avatar came from? I'm jealous of him though - he has more hair.

Well, let's just say that I fake it pretty well Kristin. You don't see the "mistakes" and "practice boards" just out of camera view.:o And the board I'm using I'd purchased about 4 years ago. The only reason I'm doing it this late is that the deadline for two shows I got accepted to are coming up really fast.

What did they say: "The face that sunk a thousand ships... or was that "the race to drink a thousand sips"..... it's way too late and 5:45 A.M. comes much too early. Good evening ladies and germs.;)
