Hey there Jim - thanks. Don't know if I'd say I'm a master of the blue sky, but I sure know how to put a proper spin on a CPL .

Stu,

Just simply beautiful. You are the master of blue skies :) The scene is so restful looking it could put one to sleep :)

Thank you Suzy - things are very fresh and budding and alive right now, and gnerally stay that way into a good part of the summer. But come hot dry August, some of the plants get a little crispy and the water level drops. At least all the goose crap dries up by then :lol:.

I recently picked up a CPL for my 16-35L II. That sucker was expensive . It's an 82mm lens, and I bought the thin B&W polarizer. I really could have bought an entire lens for what that bit cost.

When you need them, though, nothing else will really do the trick properly, so I bit the bullet. $220 did make me swallow hard.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Hi Tom - once upon a time - albeit quite briefly - I entertained the thought of getting that very nice 16-35..... and then I further investigated the additional expenses of special oil changes, tune-ups, and the larger filter size; ouch!!. I ended up going for the 17-40 instead so I could use my 77mm threaded stuff.:D

But you are absolutely right about the performance. Those things really do darken the sky nicely and reduce reflection like nobody's business. They've given me some of my nicest landscapes.

Well, lunch break is over and it's back to the grindstone - see 'ya all later folks....

I just got the 17-40MM f/4 EF L for that very reason UWA on the 5D w/77MM thread...fits to my B+W CP nicely :)

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!

The funny thing is, I really believe the 17-40 is very nearly the optical equal of the 16-35 in IQ. You give up a little bit in speed, but not that much. I believe it is probably the closest thing to a bargain in the L line.

Ok, how cool is this...
tonight EVERYONE has to watch Inside Edition

They are featuring a story of a wedding I shot that the maid of honor was at a state track meet and broke her leg, of course missing the wedding. Pretty dramatic break, but I just got off the phone with some guy at Inside Ediiton and sent him over a few pics for them to choose from.

Should I have asked them to say my name? LOL

That is AWESOME! So exciting! What channel does it come on? and What time? maybe I can DVR it.

I just finished working on the order for a e-shoot. She picked all the 'classic' shots. This was the couple that she told me that she didn't want to do any 'intimate' shots. No touching the face endearing shots. I was a little disappointed b/c my first e-shoot i just stuck to the basics and this one i was ready for more fun stuff. So she is a traditionalist. I made up for it with my bride i shot last Saturday. She was FUN.

oh and his socks were showing and they were white, so i had to edit them, per her request. I made his jeans 'longer' in one and made his socks dark brown in the other.
