Well, the 24-70's got a seriously effective hood at all focal lengths, unlike most zooms (that reverse zoom action, y'know). ND probably not. But if the sun's in the frame nothing will help. All you can do is clean everything beyond spotless and hope for the best.

Was that the Lt. Col.'s funeral they had in the Washington Post BTW?

Jon,

My friend's name is LTC (Ret) John Eggers. He actually passed away in early March and we had to wait to schedule the funeral. Arlington does up to 25 funerals a day.

I got my Domke bag and I love it! It will easily hold to the 30D, the 5D, and lenses + flash units. Again, thanks for the refferal :D

I am going to see how that 24-70MM does for me. I was trying to get away with one camera Wednesday...the last funeral I did there I had two bodies with my 70-200MM on one and my 17-55MM EF-S on the other.

Good morning to you, Kristin. Looking like my Friday night is taking care of my sick little guy. He's not been able to keep anything down for 2 days now. He's pretty wobbly in the knees. ... I finished the wedding pictures round 1. Now for the groom's parents.

Suzie,

Hope your little guy kicks that flu bug soon.

How many prints have you made so far? I printing 8x10 angels from the Alexandria Cemetery tonight for my cousin...I'll drop them off in the mail tomorrow.

OK Jared, you got me going now.... how 'bout your little friend was forged in the fiery furnaces of this place? I went cruisin' again this morning on the way to work, and discovered this hidden little overlook .... on a public street no less .(no steel company security guards!!) ....gave me a spectacular panoramic of Mittal Steels main buildings.

It's quite interesting, I was talking to an environmentalist earlier this week and supposedly this is the cleanest producing steel mill in the United States right now. There is a mild "aroma" but none of the sooty blackened skies of the recent 60's and 70's. They've substantially cleaned up their act.

Thanks, Jim.

I've printed 40 of yours and mine of 5x7's for the little album. I am giving them everything tomorrow so they can decide how to do their own albums. I'm giving the album to the B&G. The parents can do whatever they want. I will print about 20 8x10's for them at Costco. I may print a few for frames if they want them.

That's a different one then. This was an active duty killed in Iraq; family was OK with photos apparently but the Arlington officials kept the press way back. They had some similar caisson photos from that one.

I know you got that bag from Jon's friend. I went with the same bag Jon brought for his 2 camera bodies instead. I wanted it in blue so it would match the other stuff I had. Bring it along next time we get together, though.

It's always your fault when anyone buys a Domke bag. :)

You should. Or at least we should keep count of how many bags get bought with your recommendations. We should have POTN sell some with our logo on it. :)

Stu,

Another excellent photo :) The colors are soft and subtle and certainly pleasing to the eye. Looks like you had a still morning...the smoke/steam is going stright up.

Dude - Jared..... really creeping me out BIG time now. You're not on any heavy duty medications by any chance are you? Nice detail work on teeth set off against the black lips. Those eyes are really effective WITHOUT any pupils - scarier that way. But seriously, this friendly looking fellow reminds me of something.....

No Im not on any meds...nore drugs...nor alchohol. Dont drink, dont smoke, and really dont even like taking meds unless its a neccessity.

This lil fella was created on a naptkin at IHOP early early early this morning. Its one of many 2am creations Ive had over the years. Some pieces I paint, some I sketch out for photography, others are done in pencil or ink.

My friend told me he recognized him as well but couldnt name from what or where. I dont know of anything but Im sure there is a resemblance some place

Thank you Jim - yeah, there were a few on and off rain drops, but not much of a breeze.

Amazing, but this scene is probably about 8 miles from the Cleveland Museum of Art pictured in the last set. I'd been searching for a while for a good view of this place..... last time I ended up on private property without realizing it. The security guard duly pointed that out to me as he photographed me standing next to my license plate, with his P&S.

I don't really know much about steel production, but I imagine that is just steem going up. There really is no soot in the area to speak of, and my nose isn't terribly offended.

I was just kiddin' you about the meds Jared ;). I know enough artists (in my family and out) to realize that a wonderful and creative imagination can come up with material like this without any "enhancement." Keep it up - I enjoy looking at all your creations.

I've got to hand it to you, you are very productive. You after consider teaming up with a writer and doing graphic novels? You seem to work pretty fast.

Another GREAT shot Stu!

How do you do that!

If I took the same shot of that place as you did, mine would look BORING.

Are you putting hidden subliminal messages in these photots?:D
