If I took the same shot of that place as you did, mine would look BORING. Are you putting hidden subliminal messages in these photots? ![]() GEAR LIST

Well, this is the best of 12 shots I did RAW. First I exposed for the sky because I felt the coolest thing about the shot was all those neat twisty turny smoke plumes; it's not something you see everyday. But I knew that would cause the foreground to go about 1 1/2 stops too dark. Soooo.... once the sky was the way I wanted it, I made a duplicate layer, and then used levels to sort of find my black point and white to add strong contrast - the lighting was pretty flat and I knew it would look blah later on if I didn't do something about it in PP. Then I did bump exposure up to get back my foreground, and then "erased" it away to reveal the desired detail. I also did a little bit with the smoke plumes to lighten up some of the smoke, just a little, but not too much to blow out the pixels. That's sort of more or less what I did, with various tweaking in between. PP took about 30 minutes of playing around and undoing stuff I screwed up. That's a great breakdown on what you did, THANKS! Kathy H

She didn't want him to see the dress and her in it. Most people want to get it over with and get the shots for the reception as part of a display. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!

More info | Kathy, we shoot the guys before hand and our goal is to get the girls, but you know how that goes. Generally everyone is SO busy before hand we don't get many formal shots then. Almost always after...I love to have an hour, but generally I only have 1/2 an hour to perform a miracle....since we are not leaving locations, there is even a park across the street, we are set..and I'm excited to get at it. This is getting to be VERY popular here and I LOVE it! The last one i did wanted 'private time.' Stephanie Powers
