Suzy, I agree waiting is SO annoying! It is so much more relaxed when the formals are over.

Lisa, Do you ever have any couples that see each other before the ceremony? Rushing is a drag!

Stephanie, I have had several couples do that inside the church also, and most of mine last summer did this special meeting outside away from anyone, like on a bridge or staircase. It's great!

When I have a couple ask me which way is best, I try to encouarge the seeing each other first and getting the shots done before the ceremony. If they are dead set on the groom not seeing the bride before she walks down the asile, I smile and secretly think "Oh RATS!"

not yet, every one has always stuck to that rule, not seeing each other.

Well DARN! Some of my couples have never heard of it being done this way, but when I offer them the option, they usually want to think it over and they almost always choose to do the meeting first.

I can give you my story line and you can see if it works for you too! LOL

So a Wedding question...............for all of you

Do many of your couples get all the formals shot before the wedding, as in B&G see each other before the ceremony?

This is getting to be VERY popular here and I LOVE it!

In the past two years I have had only one couple that wanted to do formals before the ceremony. The tradition of the B&G not seeing one another until at the alter remains strong as far as I can see.

Mine all seem to be all for the "Special Meeting" before the ceremony.

They had videos at a recent wedding show to promote the idea. The biggest "Push" for it was .....If the bride makes the groom wait to see her when she is walking down the asile, he is actually the last to see her, all the standing guests block his clear view and THEY see her first. My brides listened to this and they are now very willing to do the meeting and step right into the photos. By the time the ceremony is over all that is left to shoot is the reception and the B&G get to enjoy and celebrate instead of standing around for an hour having photos taken. I'm loving it!:D

Kathy,

I certainly see the value in early formals...it does speed things along and get the B&G to the reception in a timely manner. I once attended a wedding and we waited over an hour for the B&G to get to the reception...they were doing the formals. The sad thing was that the Pro doing the photography was a friend of the Bride and gave her a "free" package as a wedding gift. They never got a single print from her. Their wedding album consists mainly of the shots I got with my old Canon G5 plus some more P&S shots from other attendees. Between us all we managed to get a decent but most certainly not great album assembled.

That is awful! Why didn't she give them any photos?

I've got to hand it to you, you are very productive. You after consider teaming up with a writer and doing graphic novels? You seem to work pretty fast.

That is an idea.

Once I start something, no matter what it is, I want to finish it in a timely manner. If there are breaks, lets say a dinner party, from a painting, it will be on my mind until Im back to the house and painting. But on the other hand, lets say I do break that train of thought, well then its very difficult for me to pick it back up because usually some other project is occupying my time. It doesnt have to be a big job, something as small as meeting someone at a coffee shop or picking up som cat litter.

I don't try to keep up. They're usually going in sixteen different directions. I'll stick my head in for a few minutes at a time. If they're talking about something I understand, I throw in my 2 cents.
