Today's "hot tip"

Filter wrenches work! I just got my B+H order wrench order delivered...grabbed the two "welded together" filters and using my brand spanking new filter wrench had them apart in 2 seconds :)

Right tool for the right job works every time!

Should be an easy transition however, as both brides and trains can be sexy and beautiful. But, there is a difference in size and perspective :)

Ok so I finally won the battle with the 2 y/o. Have spent the last two house trying to get her to take her nap. She is FINALLY asleep.

You can make a person do a lot of things. But sleep isn't one of them. She is SO strong willed.

I need to tidy up the house. I never figured out my droplet issue, but it isn't that big of a deal. I can just export my files out of lightroom as a cr2 or dng and run image processor in photoshop, or the batch file. No biggie.

That's what the Subal housing is for. The camera goes inside the housing and the housing is rated for certain depths. Do a googley on Subal to see the housings etc. Here are my housings for the 20D and 40D

The 20D kit with various ports and one strobe

The strobes are dedicated underwater strobes - googley Inon.

Me underwater - thanks to my buddy Gudge - with the two strobes and probably the 100 macro port
QUOTED IMAGE

Me underwater - thanks to my friend Rand - with the big dome and the Sigma 17-70 lens, single strobe

The gear inside the housing, camera & lens, is just a normal 40D and whatever bit of glass I've chosen.

Heading out today for a couple of dives ... tossing up between the 60, 100 and 17-70 - this is the worst part!

Looks like some great gear! I hope to try out something like this one day! Have you ever had any issues with it leaking?

Good morning all! I'm a little bummed coz we aren't going diving again - yesterday was awesome. But we are out tomorrow, so I can use today to do actual work LOL

Lisa - how're you doing today? I know how overwhelming even thinking about moving from those you love very much can be...I'm here if you need anything! You're going to do great and it's very cool that your daughter and her hubby are willing to move if he can find work there :) What an adventure for you all!

Scott - the mantra for uw photo is not "if but when" ;) I had someone kick my big dome one day while I was out with the whale sharks and the whole thing flooded. Had to replace the camera and the 10-20 lens plus have the housing electronics all done. Say it with me now "Insurance is your friend"!

I've also had a kitty hair across the oring, but thankfully it didn't leak until surfacing at the end of the second dive and a friend noticed the alarm when I handed it up to him on the boat. I was lucky enough to be able to simply wipe the single drop off, reinspect the oring and jump in for the next dive. No problems.

It's a huge maintenance responsibility, but it's pretty quick to do once you know what you're doing.
