Yeah, I'm still tossing it around...turns out the housing for the 40D will likely be ready to go while I am there, too, so I might not get the 100-400 and put that $1000 towards the new $4300 housing...but then again, I don't really NEED to change uw rigs...

Money being finite is a real bummer ;)

that's for sure.

speaking of buying things... Nobody has anything in stock, and the people at the camera shops have no idea what they're talking about AT ALL. I've called three places today looking for triggers, all of them fairly large chains, and none of them had what I wanted, and to 2 of them I had to explain what I wanted. PITA. I wish I lived near a big city that would have a real camera equipment shop.

Which triggers are you looking for? The Market Watch has had some great stuff listed for remote triggers lately if that's what you're after.

Since I can't get them quickly, I'll probably just by cheap ebay triggers. I'll check out the Market Watch section, though--thanks for that. I would love to be buying PWs but I can't afford that. I was hoping I would at the very least be able to get a cheapie optical slave unit for some photos I'm doing tomorrow, but no such luck. Oh well, one flash it is. I'll make do.

I have the ebay ones and so far they've worked just fine. Mine does randomly flash every two or three minutes sometimes, but it's just one of those things LOL

I have ordered the Elinchrom ones after talking with Curtis here on the board. They are significantly less than the PWs and from my questions and his (& other) answers, should work just fine.

I wish some of your motivation would rub off on me. I need to get a Tuscany flush mount designed and submitted for an upcoming show.

That's great, Lisa!

I haven't made an album yet but need to do that when I get back from holidays.

anal organized....LOL I write a list and I have to complete it. It's like a drive in me. But, trust me, I do have my days...

Asuka has just not temporarily suspended uploads till the 19th. The girl told me that business has pretty much doubled for them.

I'm so excited to design albums... maybe I can talk someone into an album of portraits...... I'll probably have to wait until I start doing weddings.

I'll look those up. I'm a little wary of the ebay ones, but I think since I'm planning to use them about 90% of the time in a studio setting, I won't need to worry about a lot of the issues I see with them. Going to go search for the Elinchrom ones now. Thanks!

I used to be anal like that but age and ADHD gets in the way. How are you designing your albums? I'm going to upgrade my Adobe software with the new InDesign.

Kristin, thanks for the tip on the Elinchrom trigger system. I'll probably go that way sometime next year, but stick with ebay/cactus for the time being. They're on my B&H wishlist, though!

Amanda - have you played around with the Canon IR system much?
