I wish I could afford to have a 5D and 1D and 1Ds with my 40D :)

Why? A 5D and a 1DS would be redundant as would a 40D and a 1D (late series). I have multiple bodies, but that's because as I replaced my business cameras, I retired the old ones to personal cameras (required for tax purposes), but for the average amateur two bodies should be more than sufficient (one backup).

Just my XTi for now, but soon I'll hopefully add either a 40D or 5D as my main body and make the XTi my backup.

I don't think the AE-1 and 620 qualify as "DSLR" ;)

Yep. If we start getting into SLR (Film and Digital), I fall into the "junkie" category.

Don't do it. Convert it to IR.

I started off with the Rebel xt about 18 months ago and bought a brand new 5D a couple of weeks ago. My original thinking was to keep the rebel for my longer 70-300 IS lens but once I put that lens on the 5D and saw how much more versatile it became; wider. I quickly saw that my original plan wasn't all that viable any more so now, I may end up trading in the Rebel toward another decent lens or just give it to my brother for Christmas...I still have the box and all the original packing materials so I can make it into a "born again virgin" with only about 3000 actuations on the shutter.

My 5D is really all I need now. I love it! :)

Cheers! :)
