New or used?

Hi,

I've been looking at a 30d, both new and used. How may actuations do these cameras go through before failure? How many is too many?

Anybody had a failure repaired? How much did it cost? (if you don't mind my asking)

Any other gems of knowledge welcomed.

I've been wondering the same thing with the actuations myself....but for the XTi....

Also, how can you tell how many actuations a camera has?

From what I've read here on POTN from other members that have had their shutters replaced, the cost is around $200.
