Remote RC-5

Hi

Just a quick question re: the remot controls available for the 400D.

I am likely going to purchase the RC-1 - sounds like the better of th two. What I'd like to know is will it function as I hav the camra set up? If I set the camera on continuous shoot and use the remote and hold the button down will it also continuous shoot? Lilkewise if I put the camera on 10 sec delay and use the 2 sec delay on the remot will it ffectivly giv me a 12 sec delay?

The button on the remote should act just like your shutter release button. Soft press it for autofocus, full press for shutter release, etc... If you have continuous shooting on, it will shoot continuously as long as you hold the button. As far as the effective 12 second delay... I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Two seconds before the shutter release is pressed, then the camera would wait 10 seconds from the time the shutter release was "activated"...

To use the remote, you put the camera in 'timer' mode. I have the RC-1, which has two modes. Instant and delay. I think the delay is 2 seconds only. I just checked, and it does NOT shoot continuously. One shot only.

I have the RC-1, but expect the RC-5 to work the same.

I like the RC-1, because it has two modes. Also, it's weightless, and can attach to your camera strap so it's always with you.
