Does anyone know why DPP doesnt feature a raw viewer where you can scroll through your pictures instead of double click and then x out and then double click the next one. I keep hoping that new versions of DPP will have this.

Canon 7D - Canon 50D - Canon 28-135 IS - Canon 580 EXII - Canon 15-85 - Canon 10-22 - Canon 70-200 IS 4.0L - Canon 400L 5.6

From DPP:

  1. Select (highlight) all the photos you want to scroll through
  2. Press Alt-Q
To scroll through those photos:

  1. Press your right or left arrow keys to go next or previous (respectively)
  2. or, click the Previous/Next buttons

Gawd! What an appalling interface! Choose applications individually, and then have to choose the documentation that goes with them; agree to multiple usage agreements, duplicate entries for some software, multiple pop-up windows, slow download (OK - maybe that's just high traffic)....

Where's the one-click "new software for OS-X" or whatever, omnibus download? Indeed why don't the applications check for the availability of updated software at launch?

Grrrrr.

(get's off soap box)

Anyway - thanks for the news and the link -- much appreciated.

edit:
pffft - add to the above, having to restart after installation - that's so last millenium!

I've just realised that I'm an idiot! When I sold my camera last month I forgot to take a copy of the CD. Having just reformatted my Mac with Leopard I can't install any of the Canon software from the web now!

Okay, I suppose technically speaking I shouldn't be allowed to install the software now I no longer have the camera - but I think that having taken thousands of photos with the camera I should be allowed to continue using the Canon software to tweak these photos without splashing out on Lightroom or CS3 etc.

I know the Windows regedit way to allow me to install the software directly from the updates - is there a way to do this on the Mac also?

Failing that there's a few local people I know with EOS cameras so I'll have to borrow one of their CDs!

dumb question but is it advised that I just DL everything windows related for my 30D? The interface leaves me wondering what I need and what I don't.
