Difference between 20D and 30D

I have the 20D, never felt the upgrade to the 30D was worth the money, although the spot metering is useful...
The difference between the 20D and the 40D would be a different matter IMO - The 40D would win hands down. I see at last that the ISO is displayed on the LCD panel

If my 20D packs up or I feel like spending some money burning a hole in my pocket...

ISO should be displayed in your viewfinder when it is being set. See pages 17 and 55 of your manual.

The 30d is a 5fps camera, like the 20D
There is little to choose between 30d and 20d - i felt no pressure to 'upgrade' when the 30d appeared, but i am having a real hard time resisting the lure of the 40D....
