Can't save DPP .tiff's to .jpg's in PS7

I am going nuts, i have about 20 .tiff's that I converted from raw files in DPP but now I can't save them to .jpg in PS7. None of the stitching programs I have will open .tiffs. Is there something Im doing wrong?

You can't save jpg ? Is it not on the "save as" list ?
How about if you select "Save a Copy" ?

Are they 16bit or 8bit. To make them JPGs they have to be 8bit.

Indeed, if they are 16bit tiff's the "Save a Copy" command won't save as jpg either.

To convert to 8bit (on my old version of photoshop):
Image menu - Mode - select '8bits/Channel'

The "Save a Copy" command should display .jpg as an option again.

I use PS7 and have no problem switching to JPEG, but don't try "Save", as that will not work - it must be "Save As". Also make sure that any layers have been flattened and its 8 bit (not 16) as already mentioned.

Canon's Photostitch will not open TIff's, only JPEGS, but after the panorama has been stitched together, then it can be saved as a Tiff.

yea i didn't realize at first that I had to switch from 16 bit to 8 bit. after i made this thread i figured it out.
