Finally got my 40D yesterday, so thought i'd make my first pic-post, and make it a "Duck" shot.

I know it's a nothing kind of a shot, but i'd like to know from you seasoned photogs, in light of various focusing issues the 40D is known for, if this shot seems to be ok. For your info, i was focusing on the duck's right eye(or the left eye in the pic
). Btw, this was shot in RAW, and converted via DPP, and resized in PSE 5. All i've done to it is to re-adjust the WB, i'd been messing around indoors and forgot to change it from tungsten, and also made minor adjustemenst to brightness, contrast and sharpness again within DPP.I'm fairly noobish when it comes to DSLR, this is my first digital body. I took up film photography some 5 years ago or so, but couldn't persue it as much as i would have liked as at the time i had a full time day job, and i was the resident sound engineer/promoter in a local music venue here in Liverpool in my spare time, as well as co-running a very small band management company and also spending 6 months of the year on and off organizing an annual music festival in the Lake District...............So not much time for anything else at all really

I have given up all the music work now, as i became a parent 2 years ago. The late nights running gigs didn't really mix with parenthood, so something had to give
. So, now i have a lot more time on my hands, especially as i became redundant at my full time job quite recently (hence the investment in some nice new gear), i've decided to go back to college and study photography, and take it up seriously. So i hope this post to be the first of many.Sorry for the long post, just thought it would be polite to introduce myself, this being such a brilliant community. Anyway, thanks a lot.
Regards
Lyndon
