sapearl Cream of the Crop More info | Nov 02, 2007 12:11 | #3 Is that for a used body? Because if that's a new price, I would suggest that it's either stolen, from a bait and switch outfit, or for one of those places that will charge you extra for the lens cap, strap, battery and cardboard box that it came in. DON'T buy it unless the "owner" can show you a B&H receipt with his/her name on it. That way you will be safe. Skip Douglas

Jot down the SN and then contact the Peterborough Police to see if they maintain any sort of database on stolen goods. serial number is posted in the add, (07205804690) visibly. i am still waiting for a reply. he may not reply for a couple days maybe. How did you find out about it? I've seen quite a few 5D's posted on buy-n-sell type web sites here in Canada and there are a lot of them for in the $700-$900 range. Walt

I've seen quite a few 5D's posted on buy-n-sell type web sites here in Canada and there are a lot of them for in the $700-$900 range. I've sent off a "how old is it- and is it under warranty" emails to all of them and only one responded back and referred me to a website in china. I still remember the old urban myth about the guy who answered the ad for the "old ford" in the womans basement that belonged to her deceased husband and she would sell it for $100 to take it away. And when the guy went there it was a mint-68 mustang. I think all of us want to find that "little old lady" who's selling her deceased husbands photo gear. i was browsing the local classified site and came across it. so i became very interested, cuz these are worth 2.5x that, new. he says 1 yr old.
