In the case of Picassa, the deduction was more clear. In Googles desire to log and database EVERYTHING, they are using the free utility to log every image on every PC the utility is installed on.

Hmmm. Disturbing. I have Picasa installed but don't use it much. I fully expect Google to log the files I post on Picasaweb, after all it's their site. I don't expect intrusion into my own drive.
Any further info on this? Perhaps it's time to uninstall Picasa...
