We started yesterday afternoon and went well into the night shooting. The lighting yesterday was just horrible, it was so dark and dreary and nothing was coming out like I wanted it to. They could be fixed in photoshop, but I haven't started sifting through the outdoor shots yet. We stopped at a 50s diner and took pictures outside as well as inside. Afterwards we went to a carnival and took quite a few photos there. I haven't done much with these either, just reworked one before I got too tired last night and went to bed. This morning we got up and went down to the beach at 7:00 to catch the sunrise and get some better photos. Today was much nicer! It turned out to be very sunny but we worked around it. I still have hundreds of photos to go through but I wanted to see what everyone thought of what I have so far. These were my first engagement photos, so don't be too harsh (just kidding - say what you want!)

Love the bright vivid colors. The sunrise on the beach with the names in the sand has to be my favorite.

#7 is cool, he looks like his name should be Rocky! I think they will love them :-)

Very nice images.. especially for a first engagement session. You really captured the fun spirit of the day :)

On the flip side- The images seem a bit "warm"

They will be very happy with them

i think my favourite has to be image #8... very nice and clear, and without knowing the couple themselves, the image presents characters that appear to suit them individually... a great collection for your first engagement shoot...

Great job. I really like the ones outside. They are a little orange but then again the sun does do that. I would try to brighten the last one.

good for your first engagement shoot. I feel like they could have been more creative with both locations.

Great set of images!

I think in #3 the couple looks a little stiff, perhaps they could have been a little more relaxed...Excellent shot nonetheless and really love the creativity...i could use some of that!

Excellent first e-session. I love the vivid colour from the first two pictures, and I love the ambient light from the rest of the set. really love the ring shot. Great job! :)

#5 - I plan to fix her hair when I have time.

I don't think changing the hair is necessary, and anything with hair takes me AGES in photoshop. Nice images :)

Thank you SO much for all of the feedback! I appreciate it so much. This was my first time really shooting in manual (I used to mostly shoot in Tv or Av) and my first time using this lens (f/2.8 24-70mm) and I was happy with how things turned out. I did get a close up of #3, but I liked the full body shot. Rocky says his "budunkadunk" (AKA butt) looks big though, so he doesn't like it ... so I will have to show him the close up of it because he will probably like that better.
