70-200 f/2.8 owners, do you shoot with or without the tripod-mount ring attached?

I leave mine on. I have a QR plate attached for when it goes on a tripod or monopod, and when I am carrying it on the camera with a neck strap, the tripod ring hooks on my belt and takes some of the weight off my neck (and the lens mount).

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
