Printing Posters ... where?

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to print their shots for poster sized prints? I think it would make great gifts and even to put up in the office.

If the place can do custom sizes for panoramic shots/crops that would be great too. Am I going to be ok with a 40D? What ISO am I looking at to get decent (doesn't have to be perfect) poster sized prints?

Oh and I'm not talking about a photo printed at poster size. I like how posters have a different "finish", so to speak.

Thanks!

ISO 400 will be fine, 800 will be ok if well exposed. You don't say what country you're in so we can't suggest places to get them printed. Google will know.

Oh I'm sorry. I'm in the US.

I'll check out photobox and I usually do try to shoot in ISO100 when possible.

Oops ... photobox is Europe ... =P

mpix.com does most things, and they do it pretty well i'm told.

I only ever shoot ISO100 when my subject is in direct sunshine, I use ISO400 for most things.

I sell sports posters and have used two vendors, Winkflash and Elcocolor. Both are great.

Awesome! Thanks for the replies. And the poster finish comes out like it does in stores? I'm not quite sure what that's called ... not glossy, not matte ...

Most posters in stores are printed offset lithography, on coated paper.

Winkflash and Elcocolor use regular photo paper. It's much nicer.

try www.theposterplace.com (external link)

I had asked this same question and the poster place was recommended to me. I am very happy with the 24x36 prints I got from them.

They're all prints, not posters like the OP asked. Elco is great and cheap for big prints, I don't know anywhere for posters though.

COSTCO if you or someone you know has a costco card.

16*20 and 20*30 for 9.99
4.99 shipping per order + .99 for each add'l print.
Their quality is unbelieveable!

We printed ~ 60 poster sized prints for our building's photo contest. They all came out awesome.
