Wow, ok here is a small laundry list:

Canon 5D--I traded up for the 1DsII
Canon 1DMkIIN--I saved money by buying a used 1DII
Digital Rebel XT--I moved up to the 5D above

Peleng 8mm Fisheye--Too wide for my full frame. I kept the 15mm FE
Sigma 12-24 4.5/5.6 EX HSM--I went for the 16-35 mkI on a full frame
Canon EF 16-35L 2.8 Mk I--Decided I wanted the markII

Sigma 17-70 2.8/4.5--XT Walk around--I went FF

Canon EF 80-200[COLOR=red][COLOR=black]L 2.8 "Magic Drainpipe" --I upgraded to the 7-2 2.8 IS
Canon EF 70-200L 2.8 IS--I wanted to try the Sigma 120-300 2.8
Canon [COLOR=red][COLOR=black]EF 100-400L 4.5-5.6 IS--This copy was a little too soft for my taste
Canon EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6--Sold, and got what I could
Canon EF 50 1.8--Gifted away
Canon EF 50 1.4--Sold and reacquired
Canon EF 85 1.8--Went with the 100 2.0 instead
Canon
EF 100 2.8 Macro--Didn't do macro much.

Canon EF 135L 2.0 (I hope to reacquire this one someday)
Canon EF 300L 2.8 IS (Traded up for the 500L, but I hope to reacquire this one someday)

50mm 1.8 = should have gotten the 1.4 from the start, lesson learned.
10-22mm = went full frame for my wide angle needs.

I don't regret getting rid of the 10-22 for one second. I couldn't stand the distortion at the widest end. Granted it was pretty nice at 15mm, but on a 40D it just wasn't wide enough. I like my 17-40L much more even if in the end it isn't much better about distortion. It's just much more versatile on a 5D than a 10-22 on a 40D. Besides I bought the 10-22 used and made $150 when I sold it.

You couldn't stand the distortion at the widest end, yet you prefer the distortion of the 17-40, even though it's more apparent and more complex? :|

ooook

The Canon 10-22mm has the least distortion at it's widest FOV compared to any other UWA at the same FOV that I'm aware of.
