50 f/1.8, not great on a crop, much prefer 28 and 85.

Soon to be sold are the 28 and 85, moving towards a simpler kit with fast zooms. :(

You couldn't stand the distortion at the widest end, yet you prefer the distortion of the 17-40, even though it's more apparent and more complex? :|

ooook

The Canon 10-22mm has the least distortion at it's widest FOV compared to any other UWA at the same FOV that I'm aware of.

At least I can use the 17-40 on FF.

Bought and sold alot of gear trying to get my kit right... not sure if I'm there yet or not! Let's see...

- Sold 18-55 kit lens and 50mm F/1.8 (my first two lenses), no regrets there.
- Sold Sigma 70-300 APO, my first telephoto
- Sold Tamron 28-75 F/2.8 as I didn't like the range on my crop cameras
- Bought and returned Sigma 10-20 for softness and focus issues
- Sold my Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 to get the Canon 17-55, in hindsight should have kept the tamron...
- Sold first 17-55 F/2.8 IS for a 24-70 F/2.8L which I then traded for another 17-55 (now for sale)
- Sold 70-200 F/4 after having both it and the F/2.8 IS for almost a year, came to grips that I'd never use the F/4 anymore.
- Purchased a 10-22 recently, decided I'm going FF, sold it 6 weeks after getting it
- Purchased and immediately returned a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 for horrible focus, softness, and fringing.
- 35mm F/2 - sold to fund some other upgrade, kinda regret it even though it wasn't very fast.

Ironically my first two real lens purchases (17-40 and 100 macro) are still with me and aren't going anywhere!
