This will make me think twice before doing firmware updates on cameras!

Another reason to shoot an email off to Canon asking them to play nice with software companies... as it is now, Adobe probably has to figure out WHY this firmware update is causing a problem, and then write a fix to address it.

Kinda scary, actually. If camera vendors wanted to, they could do like Apple and the I-phone... basically lock people out of 3rd party editing applications by way of firmware updates. (I don't see this happening in reality, but on the other hand Canon's not exactly helping us get the best quality out of our cameras the way they keep EVERYTHING about their RAW format proprietary. As if they think the ONLY tools we are going to use are the ones they provide.)

...Lightroom error on import "Unsupported or Damaged files" - ARGH.

Luckily I took jpg's as well but I'm so used to working with RAW's. The camera was set to RAW + L - not sRAW.

Were the files actually damaged, though? That would suck, but if it just has this little recognition problem temporarily, it's not so bad.

My usual import is as DNGs so does this work?

The files are fine as they are fully operational in DPP - not sure about DNG's as I've never converted to them / used them.
