Hello Gym Mom and Dads et al

Here are the latest from so. cal states. I went to practice on my little monkey's teammate during the L6 session. Tough competition. She placed only on beam. During the all around awards I was shocked to see the 10th place starting score was 36.6!

We have our L4 states on the 17th so I will post more then. C&C is always welcome and encouraged.

Cool stuff. It is great that you are capturing these for her. Funny thing is I think you have some shot that tell the story better then the ones you picked here on you fotki site. Peak action doesn't always convey the story the best. The shots with her and her coach I think are more memorable to me. But that is just my opinion. Anyway, keep it up, it's all good and she'll really appreciate it.

Randy,

Still shooting with the D50. I was at iso 800 all day and between 1/250-1/500 depending on what part of the gym she was at.

Funny that our season is now at an end with everyone else just starting up. We will get into invitationals in January and that is where it gets expensive with all of the out of state meets, yuck!

Nice work! I really like those bar shots. Nice tight focus on her have. Excellent capture.

I think the compulsories start country wide long before the optionals kick it into gear. We have an inhouse meet for levels 7-10 in December and start in earnest in January. In the mean time, our level 4-6 are getting ready for state competitions at the end of this month. I've only been to one meet. Did just take the portraits, but they don't count. ;)

Looking forward to the chalk dust flying in a few short weeks.

Thanks Brice.

I guess that would make sense then. I hope to see this group get really active again.
