I tried searching for threads but didn't get much. It seems my 20D only shoots at 3fps when using non-USM lens (35 f/2) and ai-servo (cf4-3). Is there a way/hack around this? thanks

You only get 5fps in a very special condition (totally manual). Check DPReview's test and they will say what they did to obtain the indicated fps. In your case, AI-servo and non-USM totally kills that 5fps. Try manual focus and USM lens.

AI-Servo is the real killer-- it drops the frame rate even on the 1D cameras a bit.
