I will be taking a group photo of 7 today indoor. Mom & Dad, 2 daughters, 3 boys.
I have a ab800 with softbox, ab800 with octo box, reflector and a couple of cheap Steve Keiser strobes with umbrellas. Everytime I take group photos I have a hard time with the hair light and background light. Can someone point me in the right direction on where I should place these. I have a light on a boom for the hair light, but my ceilings are to low to raise it where I want it. Help please....

Canon 20D (with grip), Canon 40d, Canon L 24-70mm,Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 85mm 1.8, 70-200mm 2.8 L, 580 ex speedflash, 2 AB800, 2 softboxes, 4 strobes, backdrops, flash bracket, reflectors and other misc....

Put it down low and shoot up at them... you will get a nice halo effect.

Alternatively, if you are lighting the background independently anyway, forget the hair light, there will be enough separation anyway.
