Yeah it's possible.

Seriously though that's odd. If anything wierd happens once, I shrug it off. Twice, scratch my head then shrug it off. More than that, I call CFS.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Funny thing is, I took several other pics in the same place, same settings, and this is the only shot (Thank God) that has this banding.

I had a strange issue similar to that on one shot at iso 400 on my 20d just recently.

I had to check the exif to make sure it wasn't at iso 3200 it was so noisy. Only one image was like that though. sorry I couldn't help, but you're not alone.

Looks like some type of RF interference. Maybe caused by something real close such as a cell phone....just a guess.

I had it happen on a 20D once. I shot two shots very close together, one is REALLY noisy and bad looking, the other is crisp as can be.

I get banding just like that when I totally suck and shoot something really underexposed and have to bring it up like 3+ stops in post processing. You sure that's not what happened? I can reproduce it quite reliably on all my cameras. Not that I'd want to, but nobody gets every single exposure spot on.

I've noticed the banding at high ISO on my 40D. See along the dark side of his face HERE. (external link)

I didn't really bring this up much, if any. I know if if I try to bring up underexposed shots at high ISO I get tons of noise, but haven't had the banding before.
