Let's keep this clean, please.

What equipment are you planning on getting yourself or is someone buying for you? (Photography related, of course.):p

I will start. I really want the 40D and new MacBook Pro, as all my friends here know. I'm hoping to order one or the other or both before the end of November and keeping the box under the tree. I try doing this every year with the gift I get myself. Sometimes it works, sometimes, I just go nuts and open the box anyway.

Suzie the 40D would be the perfect Christmas gift (especially as you already have the 5D :))

I'm going to ask Santa for 500 f/4 IS and see what happens :)

Scott, that hasn't even come out yet! :)

And Mark showed me the 300 IS and I just about died trying to carry it. I can't even imagine how heavy the 500 IS would be, but that's why we have wheely bags and tripods, right?

I get to have Christmas early since I will be with my family a bit early for the "real" day - this means I get to open pressies early and I've gone to town:
70-200L 2.8 IS
17-55 2.8 IS
580 speedlite
Elichrom triggers
some lighting stuff

...and there's rumors Santa's adding the 100-400L :D

It's a WHITE Xmas for me :D

My birthday is on the 1st of December, for which I'm getting a 24-70 2.8L. Then for Christmas, hopefully I'll get a decent bag (Computrekker, maybe...) and some more memory... Or some lighting stands/umbrellas... Decisions decisions...

Andrew, I think the 24-70 is about the best lens I own and use it the most. If that lens is not long enough I grab the 70-200 2.8 IS, which is the natural extension IMO. Congrats. I have 8 or so bags. If you need some advice, just ask. :)

I am asking that Santa bring me NOTHING this year.

Why? Cuz I am going to Italy for 2 weeks in March and I want to spend money there without reservation, if I feel like it:)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Thanks, Jeff!! I am getting really excited about it...going with 3 of my sisters!
No men allowed this time (they don't want to play as hard as us girls;))

Kja, WOW. That's some list for Santa. White Christmas, it is! Congrats and have fun with all of it.

ooo- that's like everything. You'll have to get a lot of accessories, too. Can't seem to do much without software, bags, gadgets, too.

Jeff, that 1D3 sounds exactly what I want, but can't really justify. I haven't been doing many weddings lately, just having fun. But hope you get full use of it and enjoy the it all the way. I'm surprised how light it is compared to the older version.

Maureen, I am so jealous you are going with 3 of your sisters. I keep telling my 6 older sisters we should do something like that. Maybe go to Hong Kong for real, but they are nervous always to travel together. :( And Italy has plenty of shopping besides the sightseeing, so my hubby would rather have a root canal.;) Have fun and buy me something, while you're at it. :)

Yep, right now I'm taking a course on b/w photography in Italy so I'm learning the basics of slr. So when I get back to the states I plan on getting myself a dslr so I can continue taking pictures. I have everything that I want picked out but its expensive. I think the bag, tripod, filter, etc. will have to wait. I've been stalking 30ds on ebay and I'm so tempted to buy one right now but too bad I won't return to the states until another month. Can't wait though =)

We're getting about the same thing except yours is more expensive =)
