I never check for focus on the LCD anyway, I used to do this when I had a 350D but with my current setup I dont bother anymore as every shot with AF is bang on target every time, I only ever use the LCD to check for blown highlights, thats it.

I use the LCD to see how my settings are affecting the picture. As compared to my Rebel XT, the LCD on my new 40D is to die for.

Size of the LCD for the photo itself: Meaningless as the historam is all that matters
Size of the LCD for reading the menus: Priceless...

I'll take the 2.5. Not only is the color look strange, but personally the 3" is just more area to get nose prints on.

.........but really, whats up with the magenta or blue casts to the 40D LCD's. My first one was so purple I took it back. The next one was better, but still looks strange compared to any other camera I have owned.....10D,20D,30D,5D. or Mk2N.

7D ......waiting on the 5D3

LCD size is great. No way I would ever go back to my 10D size.

Gee, you really need your 20D back!
Please get one, otherwise you’ll be bashing every single 40D feature, including the badge..
Yeah, really, why does it have that pesky number 40 on it, 20 was much better!

I sincerely hope so!
However, you should be aware that they are most likely NOT going to replace the existing LCD with the smaller one.. ;)

love the larger screen. Granted its a huge improvement of the XT's screen. If i move the camera in any direction the screen doesn't change brightness. XT would get darker or lighter. Sometimes it fooled me into thinking it was overexposed or underexposed.
