I've been lurking around here for awhile researching the 40D. I've really learned a lot and I'm definitely going to stick around. I've only had the 40D since Friday night so I'm still spending most of my time with the manual and the camera in my lap practicing. My husband bought me my first digital SLR about 3 years ago (Rebel XT) Then a year ago we were robbed and with the insurance I was able to upgrade to the XTi. My husband really enjoys photography too and we discovered that while we were happy with the lenses we had we really needed another body. So my husband just bought me the 40D and he is going to use the XTi. I'm really looking forward to learning to get the most out of this new camera, there's a bit of a learning curve I'm discovering. I tried to put a list of our gear in my signature but for some reason it doesn't work. Oh well, like I said I'm going to be around from now on, it's amazing how much one can learn here.

PS. I really enjoy very much looking at the wonderful pictures you all post here.

Awesome. Welcome, but we warned that this place is bad for the wallet.

Kathy,
Hi - I just got mine on Friday as well! I've been going back and forth with the camera and the manual practising. I was also going to say, better keep your eyes/hands on that camera as you husband may take it. LOL Can't wait to see what you are able to do with the new camera as well. :D
